When I began Business Plan Development, I expected to learn the structure of a professional business plan and gain a better understanding of how entrepreneurs organize ideas into a document that can be presented to investors or lenders. By the end of the course, I realized I had done much more than complete an assignment—I had created a realistic roadmap for a business I genuinely hope to build. The course challenged me to think beyond creativity and consider the operational, financial, and strategic decisions that determine whether an idea can become a sustainable company.

My original goal was to understand the planning process and develop a stronger foundation in entrepreneurship. That goal was met and expanded through the weekly assignments, discussions, and financial exercises that required every section of the business plan to work together. Rather than writing independent chapters, I learned that changes in one area affect marketing, operations, staffing, technology, and financial projections throughout the plan.

One of the biggest changes in my perspective was realizing that a business plan is a living document instead of a one-time assignment. Developing Breaking Ball Media forced me to research industry trends, justify financial assumptions, revise ideas based on instructor feedback, and build a strategy that reflects both my vision and practical business realities. The process strengthened my confidence while also showing me the importance of adaptability and continuous improvement.

The most valuable lesson I learned is that successful businesses are built through preparation, consistency, and thoughtful decision-making rather than a single great idea. Looking back, the greatest value of this course was not simply learning how to write a business plan. It was learning how every decision—from marketing and technology to staffing and financial projections—must work together to support a single vision.

Personally and professionally, I will apply these lessons as I continue developing Breaking Ball Media and pursue opportunities in sports and entertainment media. More importantly, I leave this course with a business plan that reflects my long-term goals and a framework that can continue evolving as new opportunities and challenges arise.
